Junior Theatre Festival 2023 Atlanta, GA | Jan. 13 – 15, 2023Fresh off its 2022 win for BEST PRODUCTION at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Florida Rep Education is pleased to announce its 2023 Junior Theatre Festival offering. Directed by its new Education Director, Monique Caldwell, and choregraphed by Megan Jimenez Leonard, Florida Rep’s Education Department will defend its BEST PRODUCTION title with Disney’s “NEWSIES JR.” at the 2023 Festival January 13 – 15 in Atlanta. “NEWSIES JR.” is crafted for young performers from the 2012 Broadway musical, which was based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, “NEWSIES JR.” features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman, book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, and written by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White.
